Founded by King Henry I in 1121, the ruins are currently closed to the public on grounds of health & safety. We are honored to have been chosen to assist in bringing this beautiful monument off the Heritage at Risk Register.
Our works include specialist consolidation works, stone replacement, new lead roof, asbestos removal, mechanical and electrical works.
In the late 18th century, the Gate House housed the Abbey School for Girls, which was attended by novelist Jane Austen.
