We were pleased to hear from Teresa Moss of National Highways on the importance of supply chain collaboration and safety performance, and inspired by guest speaker Patrick Ball, who shared a powerful and honest account of overcoming addiction and offered ongoing support to attendees and their families. With interactive sessions covering situational awareness, fact-finding, and core highways training, the day was both practical and impactful. Thank you to everyone who contributed to making the event a success, here’s to another year of growth, collaboration, and making a real difference.
Highways Stand Down Day 2026
Adrian Pike
21/01/26
On 12 January, the CRL highways team came together at Wychwood Park Hotel for our Annual Stand Down Event a dedicated day to pause, reflect, and grow together through collaboration and learning.

The day included a State of the Nation update from Director Adrian Pike, celebrating key achievements such as winning the CRA Award for Social Value & Sustainability at Oldbury, alongside the positive impact of our community initiatives, from supporting Building Heroes to donating defibrillators through the Our Jay Foundation, one of which saved a life within just two weeks.

Colleagues also received updates on SHEQ and wellbeing, including the rollout of our new online Modular Induction and health initiatives extending into 2026, while training, HR, and workforce development took centre stage with insights from Len Bool and the HR team.
